Any real estate licensee who currently has the Supervising Broker endorsement must complete a 4 hour designated "Supervising Broker" course each year as part of their 12 hours of annual continuing education in order to maintain the endorsement and continue to supervise salespeople. The CE Shop currently does not offer this course.
Beginning with the 2012 license year, the Board of Realty Regulation will be implementing a requirement that all Montana real estate licensees take a required Core Course in addition to the currently required 12 hours of continuing education. The hours for the core course may change from year to year depending on the depth and breadth of information the Board would like to see covered. For the 2012 license year, the core course was 4 hours long. For the 2013 license year, the core course is 3 hours long. This means that for the 2013 license year, all licensees will be required to take 15 total hours of education — one 3-hour Core Course (one for real estate licensees and one for property managers) and 12 hours additional continuing education (with at least 4 hours of the 12 from a mandatory topic). If the licensee holds both a property managers license and a real estate license they will be required to take both the property management core course and the real estate core course. Currently, The CE Shop does not offer the Property Manager Core course at this time.
Per ARM 24.210.829, beginning November 1, 2007, new property management licensees are required to complete 12 hours of new licensee mandatory continuing education by the second renewal date as set by ARM 24.1010.413 following their original license issue date. Six of these hours must consist of: (a) two hours of trust accounts, (b) two hours of leasing principles, (c) two hours of state law update. The CE Shop currently does not have these courses.

Reporting: Real estate course completions are reported to the Montana Department of Labor & Industry Business Standards Division each Thursday. It may take an average of 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours. Please be patient with this process and understand that it may vary depending on your state. Course completion(s) are reported on the designated and publicly posted scheduled days. Course completion(s) will be reported the following scheduled reporting day from the course completion date(s).
Expiration date of course: Courses expire one year after the order date.
Post Licensing: All new salespeople will receive an interim license that will expire October 31st. As required by ARM, 24.210.611, you must complete the New License Mandatory Continuing Education class (commonly referred to as the Rookie Course) and renew your license prior to October 31st, or your license will expire and you will be required to reapply for a license and meet current licensing requirements. The CE Shop currently does not offer this course.
Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.
Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificates of completion will reflect this.
